Welcome Tatum!
One of my good friends Sherrie just had her baby daughter who was actually due March 10th but she was born early yesterday, January 30th! I just want to wish my friend and her family a HUGE congratulations and lots of hugs, sleep and rest. Tatum is healthy and was born at 5 lbs. Love new babies and I can't wait to see the new bundle of joy. :)

First Birthday
Hey All! I've been busy planning Mason's first birthday party.
I am so excited. It's going to be a Superhero theme.
I found a few things and am so in love with the superhero birthday ideas from the hostessblog.com.
I'm using a ton of her stuff for inspiration. Check it out:
I've booked a caricature artist and am looking for a balloon sculpter so the kids can have some entertainment. Also, since my babyshower for Mason was held at a winebar, I'm going to have a wine/beer station and a small surprise for the moms to enjoy themselves and take some time to relax.
I'm super excited! I can't wait. Special shout out to my sister-in-law Sheryll for helping me find the place. I didn't have to spend any time looking for a place because I am just going to hold his first birthday at the same place his cousin will celebrate his. I can't wait!

Seperation Anxiety
Hi Mama's! I've been dealing with seperation anxiety from my little guy and it's been crazy. He only wants to be with me. Sometimes it's cute but when we're out and about and I give him to his daddy to hold him for a second, his little face gets all red and then the tears start pouring out.
Oh my gosh I tell you, it's getting exhausting. Sometimes I feel so GUILTY for having to leave him in someone else's care when I go to work. But I always tell myself that I'm going to work to provide him with a better future and that he will thank me in the end.
All you working mom's - it's hard leaving your little babies at home isn't it? If only I could bring my little guy to the daycare center here at work - it would be so awesome so I could at least see him during my lunch break. It's crazy expensive though and I didn't get picked for the lottery to get a daycare spot so that solves that.
I've been thinking about working only 4 days a week so I could be with my little guy more. We'll just have to see. Anyway, have a great day!
The sun is shining here in San Francisco and the rain has stopped so that definitely brings a smile to my face.

Recess
This weekend was rainy in SF! But we've been needing this rain for quite some time now so I enjoyed listening to the pitter patter on my window. I wanted to take Mason out so he can try to release some of his baby energy so we decided to visit Recess Urban Recreation in Potrero Hill. Thanks to my sister-in-law for recommending this place! We've even decided to host Mason's very first birthday here in a couple of months which will be so exciting. :)
Anyway, Mason was super curious about Recess and had tons of fun!
We stayed in the pre-crawler room and he had so much fun. We also decided to join as members so he can enjoy this place on the weekends.

College Fund
One of the things I promised myself was when I had children I would open up a college fund for them. Higher education is extremely important to me. I believe that education continues to open up doors for people. I, myself work as an MBA Recruiter for a large organization. I see first hand how important it is to have higher education in order to have a better chance at a successful career, better life etc. My parents were great parents and still are. However, one of the things I wished they had done for me and my brothers is to open up a college fund for us when we were younger.
I believe this would have made it easier for us to make decisions about college and we would have had less to worry about during our college years. So I have opened up a college fund for Mason and will continue to give a portion of my monthly paycheck into the account and deposit a undisclosed amount on every single one of his birthdays. I hope it adds up and he has enough for his college education.
I don't want him to worry about the things I had to worry about when I was in college. I remember I had to work full-time through my college years and it was tough! Are you mommas saving for your little ones?

Weekend Fun!
I Seriously LIVE for the weekends because I can spend all day with my baby. We've been busy with remodeling the house so I feel like I'm living in a suitcase but it's been kinda nice cause Shane and I are having a great time picking out new stuff for our place. This weekend, while Daddy served at the base, Mason and I hung out and GRUBBED on delicious food all day Saturday and Sunday.
We even celebrated Mason's cousin Tristan's 11 month birthday. I can't believe the 2 boys are almost a year old! Time is soooo precious. These boys are growing up too fast.
I "stole" this pic from my sis-in-law's blog "Hello Tristan". :)
The two boys are hanging out on the swing at the park. Lol - look at Mason's face. He looks so unimpressed. A few seconds later, he was screaming his head off because he wanted out.

Happy 10 months Baby Mason!
Time sure flies! I can't believe baby Mason is officially 10 months old. He is growing up so fast. He's starting to say Dada and Mummmm... It's really cute and he's pulling himself up and crawling all over the place. He LOVES to stand and has the cutest smiling face when he's standing. It's as if he's so proud that he's standing all by himself. I am so in love with this little guy. Happy 10 months Mason! I will love you forever.
Here's a pic of Mason with his daddy on the day of New Years Eve at Oxbow in Napa Valley.

Happy New Year!
Hi All! Happy New Year. I had such a great ten days off during the holidays that I completely shut myself off from blogging etc. It was nice to relax with my family and Mason. I overindulged in good food, wine, chocolates etc.
I also LOVED spending so much time with my baby that it was so hard to go back to work yesterday. We had such a wonderful first Christmas with our little one. He had so much fun on Christmas Eve that he slept until 1 pm the next day. He of course woke up to nurse a couple of times but went right back to sleep.
On the day of New Year's eve, we spent the time relaxing in Napa Valley and had such an amazing lunch at Oxbow and trekked over to V.Sattui to purchase wine for that evening. I of course fell asleep at 10:30 pm with Mason and missed the entire countdown. I think that this is the first time in my entire adult life that I missed the countdown to the new year. It's OK though because I was getting my much needed beauty sleep.
I wish you a VERY Happy New Year and hope you continue to blessed with hugs and kisses from your little ones. I hope your life is filled with happiness, health, prosperity and love always.
Have a great week!
