My Bluum Box review

Hey Moms!  I took advantage of a Plum District deal for a bluum box last month and finally received my box today.

What is Bluum?  I took this from their website:

Bluum is like a magazine subscription for essential products for you and your baby. Delivered beautifully packaged to your doorstep every month.  As your bluum baby grows up, so does your bluum subscription. Boxes grow with your child, as do the contents.
Each month, your bluum box is a surprise - and who likes spoiled surprises, right?
Let's say this: The bluum staff works day and night to hand-pick the newest and most exciting products. In the past, some of these included, but were not limited to:
  • Creams (Stretch Mark, Rashes)
  • BabyFood (Organic, Natural, Dried)
  • Wipes (SuperGoop Sunscreen, Teething Wipes)
  • Toys (Rattles, Plush)
  • Learning (Books, Smartphone Apps)
  • ... and always a surprise for the mom!

Here are some pics of what I received.

Here's a note from Nicole from Marketing telling me about the theme of the items in the box.

I thought this was OK. I buy these all the time so I wasn't impressed with these items.

Ugh - definitely not something my son would like or use. It looks a little bit like a voodoo doll.

Cool!  I think my son will like this since he loves to color.

How fun!  My son loves this.  He started jumping up and down with joy when we started blowing the bubbles.

I gave this to my son and now I can't find the darn thing.  It must be somewhere under the couch.  :)

Coupon for shoes and a Thank you from Pocket Pals.

I love Luna bars so I can't wait to check this out.

I've never tried any 7th Heaven items but can't wait to try it out.

What do you think?  Do you also receive Bluum boxes?  This is my very first box and I don't think I'm going to move forward with them because I can't justify the costs for this.

For the LOVE of long weekends

I had such a lovely three day weekend!  It felt like I had so much time on my hands.  We celebrated my brother-in-law's high school graduation on Saturday.  We had dinner at a lovely steakhouse but oh did Mason give us a hard time at dinner.  He was pretty good in the beginning but when he saw another little boy who had a toy that he wanted he threw the biggest tantrum.  I sure can't wait until this phase is over.

We also hung out at a local festival in Sausalito, CA and Mason was dancing along with the band they had on stage.  It was so much fun.  He also played in their jumpy house and they had fun carnival games.  It was so fun! We also got to enjoy a lovely dinner at this place called "The Surf Spot". Mason played in the sand until it was time for us to have dinner.  I can't wait to return because it was such a relaxing dinner.

The weather here was nice on Saturday and Sunday but we had some slight drizzle on Monday. It was still very beautiful and so great to have the time off with my family.

How was your weekend?  What did you do?

The Little Book Club review

Hey moms!  I took advantage of the plum district deal and purchased the The Little Book Club voucher.  It was great because it was time for me to restock Mason's library with a brand new set of books.

The books came packaged in a cute little box and arrived within a week after I placed the order on Thelittlebookclub.com.

We received 3 books and a cute little note for Mason with the  list of the 3 books.  The theme for the month was bedtime and baths.  We already had the Going to Bed book by Sandra Boynton but I was happy to receive a new one because our current one was in such bad shape.

The regular cost of the membership is approximately $24.95 with free shipping which is fine.

We received "The Goodnight Train" which my son LOVES.
The retail price is $16.99; King Bidgood's in the Bathtub which retails at 7.99 and The Going to Bed book which retails at 6.99.  Retail costs are: $31.97 which is not a pretty bad deal.

I love that they also personalize the choices according to your son's age.  I don't know if I'm going to continue my subscription because I've been watching my budget and saving for Mason's college fund.  We'll see.

What did you receive from your The Little Book Club package?

Terrible Two's?

Hey all!  I just returned from a long weekend to Disneyland with my family and it was a nice trip although we've been deep in tantrum mode so there was a lot of stress that went along with the trip.

My little one has resorted to crying over every little thing. Thank goodness he was an angel during our flight but during the security checkpoint was another story.  He would be in full meltdown mode by the time we got to the security gate and it was downright stressful.

Anyway, how are you moms dealing with your little ones tantrums?  For those of you who don't have to deal with you, consider yourself very lucky!

Here's some pics of Mason from our trip. It was fun but my husband and I both agreed that it's going to be a long time before we go on another trip.  :)
